Reunited with Paleo (and it feels so good!)

so the past 2 weeks have been hell on earth -  amazing in that i just bought my first home (huzzah!) but horrible for my diet since we havent had a kitchen.  hello fast food, pizza, and other people dropping food off like mac n cheese and lasagna.

Needless to say, any progress I’ve made before as far as weight loss has been revoked…but I am starting on building my home gym and started paleo again over the weekend and already feel much better.

I guess it wasnt all for a  loss, I certainly got my strenght trainign in moveing for 2 weeks straight.  packed the boxes a little heavy and that fridge and freezer wasn’t going to move itself ;D

Up and coming, I have a 5k in 2 weeks and just signed up for a 1/2 marathon in June.

Current weight:  154 (ugh)  usually wouldnt be bad but I’m 5’1″.  UGH.  my legs are pure muscle but everything else….  need. kettlebells. stat!

here we gooooo!

and she’s off. . .kind of..

my early morning work out plans were dashed by a late night at work, so i got to it later this eve after pretty much the most un-paleo dinner one could muster up.

getting back into this is harder than i thought.  i had such success a few weeks ago and here i am struggling with the basics.. .

come to think of it, story of my fitness life at the moment.  a little over a year ago i could have run my pants off.  the mile i sputtered out this evening was pathetic, but so it goes.  starting back at it again even after a brief pause is like starting to date an ex again.  you don’t completly trust the other one and you know its going to be painfully awkward in the begining.

got some decent lunges/yoga in and some calf muscle work.  all in all not my most stellar performance, but pretty happy i decided to do that as opposed to finising the milano cookies leftover  from the weekend.

speaking of, i have yet to weigh myself after slipping off the wagon.  and by slipping, i mean running leap-n-tumble. meh.

to seeing improvement tomorrow. . .  briggs out.

Starting Line(s)

So there I was, perusing facebook and pondering a nap, when I peeped some recent activity to a blog that I subscribe to:

http://practicalpaleolithic.com/paleolithic-diet-blog/sins-body-transformation-blog-challenge

this isn’t the first time SINS and practical paleo has altered my hum drum routine.  Admitedly, when I read about the paelo diet on these blogs, I laughed and laughed at the thought of breaking up with bread, something I’ve tried before but always came stumbling back to (#atkinsFAIL).  But then I found myself reading more and more about it, eventually staring at the “buy now” button on Amazon, and suddenly had two books and a cookbook on the damn thing.

So this latest stunt has peaked my interest.  I’ve started the paleo and have seen nasty results.  I’m also getting married this October and would like to have an equally nasty set of guns from which to launch my bouquet ;D

The plan I threw together after throwing this blog together would be a combo of paleo, endurance running, yoga and kettlebells.  Details TBD (and kettlebells yet to be acquired).

However, my good friend Hal Higdon has helped me out before, so I’ll start my 1/2 marathon plan here :

So what does “nothin’ to it but to do it” have to do with it?  Please ask Mr. Ron Coleman, who always provides me a chuckle with his weight lifting logic:

“Everybody wants to be a body builder, but nobody wants to lift these HEAVY ASS WEIGHTS.  I do it.”  Yeah, buddy!

So allow me to reintroduce myself. . .
